You can't understand the words maybe, but you can neverthless laugh with us and them! :)
This song is one of the most successful in Italian
summer and it shows the love Italian pop/rock groups have got in britpop style.
This is a new combo from Roma and they are called Velvet and other than this
catchy song they have got also a wonderful ballad able to show a more mature side of them.

What 's really nice in "Boyband" though it's the irony of it.
I won't tell about the video which is a fantastic piss off about corporated music products
(other than you should see it.. I'd post a link but generally it doesn't work, at MTV.it

The song speaks about all the plan about "getting fitter and cooler" anyone of us uses
to make when we are on the verge of a new season, and here before it's summer.

It's all so superficial of course, and it's said with itching sarcasm, while
the edge of all fake aims seems to sum up for the singer while he recognize not only
he's out of force when everyone should be more active , but he even sings.. for a boyband!

It's the metaphore of a life wasted and pretentious...

so summer passes, and all seems faded, but not the will to get better.
Like that saying "Oh.. next year though I'll be in shape by time" it seems there's
an entire fall for getting fitter again..
pity that he keeps on feeling out of forces, poor him.. he still be in a boyband!

What I appreciate the most about Italian pop/rock groups is that when they get inspired from some foreign trend they admit it when that was hip, and they still admit it even when the music they got inspired from starts to get trashed from abroad critics.
